MANALI: A 40km stretch of Kullu-Manali road will be made into a super highway, equipped with all modern facilities. Kullu administration plans to build cycle tracks on the both sides of the national highway between Kullu and Manali, which is being widened by the National Highway Authority of India(NHAI).
The district administration has chalked out a plan to equip the stretch with not only footpaths, but also build cycling tracks along it. This will ensure safe biking on the hill road with curbs and gradient. The highway will have drinking water facility and toilets at a certain distance. Parking spaces will also be developed. All these facilities will make the highway a super highway and also will boost tourism. If turned into a reality, this will be the state’s first dedicated cycle track.
