Neha Arora beti of Palampur town of Himachal Pradesh won the Fashion Scout during London Fashion Week. Her collection was featured prominently in British Vogue and other leading British media.
It is for the 2nd Consecutive Season that student designers from INIFD showcased their Collection on the ramp at one of the world biggest Fashion platforms at Fashion Scout during London Fashion Week at London and brought laurels to the country. Proud INIFDians also gained international experience and exposure as a part of the implementation team and worked with Top International Designers hand in hand.
Neha Arora is the 2nd designer to showcase as Proud Winner at Fashion Scout during London Fashion Week.
Neha shares with Insight Himachal “I am very happy and my dream came true. My inspiration for the collection was Madhubani Paintings. I tried to create a fusion between the past and the present”. Moreover, my collection was also selected by the elite Jury from London and India, held in last week of December in London, she told.
“The main design that has been picked is “Tree of Life”. I tried to depict the transformations in these ages which fill the gap between today and the past. My collection is a summarization of royal and elegant silhouettes” she told and added “ I used Rich fabrics like silk and its luxurious variants to create an elegant collection in Royal Colors- Yellow Ochre, Persian blue, Emerald Green, Maroon, Shades of Grey Age old techniques of block printing in golden colour with handcrafted Blocks, highlighted with very intricate and unique Indian “Zari Embroidery” (tilla and pitta work)”.
Neha, a graduate in Fashion Design from INIFD was the only student selected from Chandigarh who represented the Country at this prestigious event at London on 18th February 2017. For Neha journey to London, Fashion Week was very challenging and exciting. It was a life changing experience for this young talented designer to get her Collection assembled.
